Full Text
R. G. Wear, whose ranch is about 4 miles from Ekalaka, was in town yesterday as a delegate to the democratic convention. He states that things about Ekalaka are proverbially quiet: politically, he thinks the democrats are a little the strongest, and that about 65 votes will be polled.
He says it has been dry thereabouts but that they have had more rain than has visited other sections of the country. There was a forest fire out there about three weeks ago which burnt through a district on Little Beaver a point about 90 miles from Miles City, but this was fortunately extinguished. A range fire also burnt off a considerable scope of range and approached near Capt. Harmon's ranch, but this likewise has been extinguished. He says some of the ranchers will raise fair crops notwithstanding the drouth, and that the crop of hay throughout his district is moderately good.
