Gen. Babcock's father-in-law, Benj. N. Campbell, is next expected to be investigated.

Holding the position of United States Marshal in Illinois, it is charged that he exacted from a Miss Sweet one-half of her salary and the biggest part of her emoluments as Pension Agent, as the condition of allowing her to keep her position. Moreover, he compelled her to provide a sinecure position in her office for his brother, Geo. Campbell. No wonder that Miss Sweet has soured on him, and in place of sugar is ready to deal pepper upon him before the investigating committee.
