completely
destroyed the
home and household goods of
Mr. and Mrs. John O. Lowdermilk of Arlington about 5
o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
As there had been no fire
in the stove for many hours
prior to the starting of the
conflagration its cause is unexplained. It is thought
possible that the sun shining
thru a window may have ignited bedclothing, as the fire
apparently started near the
head of Mr. Lowdermilk's bed.
Mrs. Lowdermilk was at
home alone and was out in
the yard when she first noticed the flames. Before anything
could be removed the
building, which was of frame
construction, was a mass of
fire. Not only the building
but the furniture and clothing of the family were also
completely destroyed.
Mr. Lowdermilk did not
carry any insurance, it is
said, and as a result the loss
is a complete one.
About two years ago the
Lowdermilk home, in the
same location, was demolished
by a windstorm.
