Full Text
The once divided Democracy of Tennessee having, in convention, at Nashville, reconciled all differences as to the manner of settling the state debt, and united upon a common platform, there is no further need of division in Montgomery county, and the convention that will meet in Clarksville on September 2nd to nominate a man to represent us in the Legislature should not only select a man of capacity and the highest personal integrity and honor, but, to secure harmony the candidate should be one who can consistently advocate the principles enunciated in the state platform, and whose liberal views and past record will in no way antagonize the elements in the party. We, recognizing in you all these qualifications, earnestly solicit you to allow your name to come before the convention, assuring you the warm support of the
SOUTHSIDE.
