PARIS, July 27. - Dr. Paul Gorgouloff, fanatical Russian assassin of President Paul Doumer, was found guilty by a jury today of premeditated murder without extenuating circumstances and was sentenced to the guillotine.
He will be executed some day soon at dawn, after President Albert Lebrun has waived his presidential right to pardon.
The jury, after deliberating 35 minutes, found the murder was voluntary and premeditated, but did not answer the third question put by the judge, whether there were any extenuating circumstances.
In the absence of any answer to the third question, the court pronounced the death sentence.
Gorgouloff was hurried from the Palais de Justice to Sante prison after the sentence before a small crowd outside knew of the verdict.
The execution will take place outside the prison gate some time next month. The defender, Maitre Henri Geraud, announced he would seek Lebrun's clemency, but lawyers believed the successor to the murdered president would not be able to grant it.
