Town Manager Gilmore stated that the town of Smyrna has had no outage since Hurricane Hazel when current was off from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
While the men were at work at the sub-station 25 volunteers of the Citizen Hose Company were standing by at the fire house to take care of any alarm as the siren is electrically controlled. The firemen assembled at 6:45 a.m. and stayed until current was restored. Hot coffee and buns were provided for the firemen by Fire Chief Reynolds Bradley.
