A Small Fire.

On Saturday morning about 12:30 o'clock there was a fire in Gravel Town at the house owned and occupied by John Herbert, colored, just below the colored Presbyterian church; which, however, did very little damage, owing to the prompt arrival of the fire company and the quick work of the same, but for which there probably would have been a serious fire.

The midnight hour is a difficult time, but Newberry's firemen are on hand promptly at all times and on all occasions at the call of duty.
