Name for athletic field sought

Several times in the past two months it has been suggested that the athletic field be named and hereafter known as "Swanson Field," in memory of Roy Swanson, who died suddenly this spring. It was felt that the simple designation, "Swanson Field," would be a fitting tribute to the man who, since 1936, stood for sportsmanship and fair play during the baseball seasons here each summer. While the MIRROR recommends the idea, and feels it a worthwhile gesture, we feel that only the men of this institution, themselves, can make the gesture a meaningful one. Therefore, we ask for comment from any who care to write, and who would like to see this tribute effected.
