London, April 10. They write from Chester, that about a Fortnight ago, three Persons were apprehended uttering bad Money, one of whom had been seen filing and engraving Half-Crowns, and when search'd had Gold dissolved in Quick-silver, and some suspicious Tools found upon him; they were, after Examination, committed to the Northgate. The genteelest of them, who went by the Name of Downes, is since discover'd to be the famous Mr. Vaughan, (styled commonly by his Fraternity Lord Vaughan, but in reality Brother to the Lord Viscount Lisburn.) This Gentleman was, not long ago, condemn'd for some Robberies, but had the Favour of Transportation along with Mess. Wreathock and Justice: but he, as well as his Companions, thought fit to return, as indeed many of the Convicts do. How he has behav'd since his Arrival, and whether he merits farther Grace, a little Time will shew; for 'tis said that he is soon to be brought from Chester by Habeas Corpus.
