Church Routes Whites Chosen G.O.P. Delegate

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-By a unanimous vote, "Bob" Church was elected delegate to the National Republican Convention by party leaders in the Congressional convention held in the Court House here Saturday.

Lester B. Brenner, white, U. S. Commissioner, was also unanimously elected alternate. The two names were put in nomination by assistant U. S. Attorney, Herbert Harper.

The close alignment and understanding between Congressman J. Will Taylor and Church was indicated again by instructions given delegates to the state convention on resolution of the latter that Taylor be re-elected national committeeman from Tennessee.

The election of Church also indicates a complete routing of the lily whites from state Republican councils and in all probability will give Church complete control over West Tennessee patronage.
