The President's New York Reception.

New York, June 2.-After the parade Friday the President held a reception in the parlor of the Fifth Avenue Hotel. Three hundred persons were present. A large number were grand army men. The President appeared to be in splendid health. His eye was bright and his skin clear. After the reception he had luncheon in his rooms. Marshal McMichael, Stephen B. French and Surrogate Rollins were his guests. They were at the table over two hours. Then the doors were opened for another reception. All who waited long enough saw the President. Among the callers were General Butler, Captain Mack, of the Ancient Artillery of Boston, Thomas C. Acton, Horace Russell, Al. Daggett, Chas. L. Tiffany, John R. Lydecken, Surveyor Benedict, Jacob Hess, Actor Wm. J. Florence, Captain Williams and Miss G. Lewis, an old acquaintance. The President refused to discuss politics.
