Dig me. . . . I never dreamed the A. L. convention was going to leave me and Boston like this; 10 years ago was like a tea party of the same era but this convention-a blitzkrieg; and isn't it odd how you unknowingly get into the spirit (of things) and find yourself being carried away in a whirling frenzy of fun and then you wake up.-My My head; You're a better man than I Joe (Gunga Din) Lee. . . . speaking of Kipling I understand Miss NAOMI YEARWOOD is finding it a bit difficult in adjusting herself to those "you all" surroundings; however, she sends regards to all her Boston friends including "Bright Eyes". . . and speaking of songs let's smile again at the popular "Savoy", owned by MRS. KATHERINE DONOHUE who, on being approached and asked whether she wanted colored patrons or not, replied that "colored people are always welcome at the Savoy". which to my mind just about kills all reports to the contrary; and speaking of murder: have you heard that solid gang of entertainers: Clarence Jackson, who will bounce you right out of your seat; Rodney Sturgis who sings in all flavors including "blues"; and that terrific quintet of Sherman Freman's who will play your favorite requests without sending in a stamped envelope . . . and speaking of favorites I will be there Saturday night to autograph all telegrams including those received from Indiana as a vanguard to a car load of gifts. . . . Happy birthday MARIAN DAILY. sorry to be late but this is a weekly edition.... Speaking of weakly; this excuse is the payoff—a woman screams, aid rushes in, a tall dark man is stopped, questioned, he replied, "I was just reaching for my keys; and then I insisted on three Zombies". Before I say so long, in all seriousness. let's say "Hope we will see you soon". to EVELYN DELOACH who is leaving Boston to for- ... may I add that I am glad I can't sing. Get your own copy of the GUARDIAN I may get a raise. Bigger and betternext week. just like the convention. a high society wedding and everything went to town in the grand manner with Tasker Crosson and Doris Jones who daughter Gail . . .
