'Round World Flier Points Her Ship Across 1,000 Miles of Caribbean

Miami, Fla., June 2.-(AP)-Pan American Airways reported Amelia Earhart landed at Caripito, Venezuela, at 9:18 a. m. (CST) Wednesday after a flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

San Juan, Puerto Rico, June 2.- (AP)-Amelia Earhart lifted her silvery twin-motored monoplane into the second leg of her projected "just for fun" flight around the world Wednesday, heading for Paramaribo, Dutch Guiana, 1,000 miles away.

Her ship roared away under fair skies and with a 10-mile-an-hour east wind for the long overwater hop.

The takeoff at 4:50 a. m. (CST) had been considerably delayed while the slim, blonde airwoman awaited weather reports from Trinidad.
