WASHINGTON, June 15. — The aim to make the American soldier the best-equipped in the world may be succeeding too well, military authorities here indicated as they disclosed methods of lightening packs for invasion armies is under consideration.

Experiences of our troops in Africa and in the Aleutians demonstrated that the men swarming ashore on enemy beaches should carry lighter loads, these sources said. What changes may be made in the great mass of equipment carried by each soldier are not made known.
