Mr. Vincent, an Erie (N. Y.) attorney, sent a letter to Mayor Stokley, of Phila., received on Saturday, conveying information that a man in that county, while in fear of death from serious illness, confessed to having murdered James Neady, a colored porter in the employ of S. S. White at his dental depot Arch street below Sixth, on October 7, 1865 and robbed the place of $500 worth of gold, etc. The murder created great excitement at the time, and a party named Hugh Donnelly was arrested by the detectives on suspicion of being the murderer but he was discharged.
