FROM SOUTH AMERICA.

New York Feb 19.

From Curacao.-By the arrival this forenoon of the schooner Vestal, in 20 days from Curacao. we learn that authentic accounts reached that place on the 26th day of January, stating, that on the 15th of that month General Clementi arrived at Maracaibo with 1900 men, from Santa Martha, and would proceed immediately to Coro, in order to reduce that place.

Gen. Clementi is to be appointed governor of Maracaibo. A squadron of Colombian vessels, consisting of a brig of war, and eight schooners, each carrying from six to twelve guns, arrived at Maracaibo nearly at the same time with the above mentioned troops. From this circumstance it may be inferred that this respectable naval and land force is intended to act in conjunction against Coro and Porto Cabello, the only places now in possession of the Royalists on the immense line of sea coast from the river Orinoco to the Isthmus of Panama.
