LIBERIAN
AMBASSADOR
CHICAGO -(ANP) - George A. Padmore, Liberian Ambassador to the United States, was guest of honor at a dinner-dance and reception given at the Hotel Hilton Friday night by the Chicago Branch of the American Friends of Liberia.
Consuls from various countries were invited to the affair which had also in attendance a considerable contingent of Liberian students from the midwest colleges where they are studying.
Dr. H. F. Bouyer, president of the American Friends of Liberia served as toastmaster. Several musical selections from students of Roosevelt University, Catherine Jackson Adams and Lorenzo Stallings, vocalists and Anne Marie Hudley, and Maru Sauer, pianists included The Liberian National Anthem sung by Thelma Wade Brown.
Ambassador Padmore in an address expressed appreciation for the friendliness which American citizens exhibited toward Liberia. He especially thanked the sponsors of the affair Friday night which was for the benefit of a Liberian student fund. Consul William H. Jones was host.
