Fort Worth, Texas, April 5.—The trial of Mrs. Lizzie Brooks on the charge of murdering Mrs. Mary Binford, a saleswoman, began here Monday. Mrs. Brooks' counsel asked each juryman:

"Do you believe that a woman has the same right as a man to protect her home?"

On January 16 Mrs. Brooks, the wife of an attorney of Fort Worth, went with a revolver concealed in her fur muff to the department store where Mrs. Binford was employed and shot her to death.
