Brother Burr:--I recently attended a session of the Clinton Q. M. held in Plainfield, N. Y. The season was an interesting one, especially on the Sabbath, when Bro. M. C. Brown was ordained. I do not give the particulars, as they will doubtless soon be communicated to you officially. Plainfield, you are aware, is the place where our esteemed brother, Eld. John Chaney devotes the chief part of his labors. His connection with the church there has been abundantly blest. Zion, which had for several years been in a languishing condition, has been revived. Where formerly few came to her solemn feasts, now multitudes throng her temple gates, and the face of society wears altogether a different aspect. Br. Chaney's labors since he came into this State have been arduous and unremitting, and are appreciated by many. I cannot give you a circumstantial account of the revival in the F. Baptist society at P. the past winter, but hope it will be furnished for publication. I think, however, that as fruits of it, Br. C. has already baptized between 60 and 70.
J. J. BUTLER.
