CHUCK WIGGINS,
Indianapolis is gaining more sport fame in Australia through the efforts of Chuck Wiggins, local light heavyweight, who is making a solid hit in the Antipodes by his success against that country's best maulers. He defeated George Cook in twenty rounds in his first engagement and then came back with a second victory, stopping Fred Kay in eleven rounds. According to Snowy Baker, leading Australian fight critic and promoter, Wiggins looks good to win the championship of that country.
Chuck went over with Tom Andrews' party and is proving the ace of the Yank tourists. He is improving rapidly and has become a wonderful short puncher, inflicting severe punishment with both hands. He also has great endurance and in both his Australian engagements he never seemed to tire and kept after his opponents from the opening bell. Indianapolis ring fans are watching with interest the career of the young boxer and many predict he will reach a position where he will be able to win the light heavyweight crown and perhaps challenge for the world's heavyweight laurels if he follows the proper training course.
