To the editors of the Commercial Advertiser

Gentlemen--I perceived in your paper of Saturday evening last, a statement of the losses in the British navy, by capture by American cruisers, which statement is very incorrect and illiberal. I have, therefore, taken the liberty to inclose you a correct statement, which I will thank you to publish. It is correct, as you will see by passing an eye over it. Yours, &c.
