Boys Decided That we Should Retain
The Philippines.
We shall retain the Philippines, as
it was decided by the Crescent Social
club at their debate last night which
was held at the home of Mr. Fred J.
Nagel, 424 Goliad street. On the
affirmative side were John H. Wharton, Jr., Phillip Wantzloeben and A.
F. Dugosh. On the negative side
were Fred Faust, Scudder Hines and
Fred C. Wantzloeben.
The judges chosen were George Con-
ring, Fred Nagel and Mr. Ed Watts
as a supreme judge.
The judges retired after the debate
and in a few minutes returned with
a unanimous decision in favor of the
affirmative side.
After the debate all retired to the
dining room where ice cream and cake
was served and several toasts were
given by the boys. The next business
meeting will take place at Mr. Geo.
Conring's home 310 Blum street, Aug.
18th.
