We hear that a Gang of Informers against Persons for retailing Spirituous Liquors, lately took a Country Journey, one Part into Devonshire, where they inform'd against a great Number of Persons ; but the Informations were all dismiss'd, the Justices not taking the Informers for credible Witnesses: Another Part of the said Company, laid near 20 Informations against Persons in Hampshire, with more Success, the People being convicted; but the Justices reduced the Fines to 4 Pence each, the half of which they were punctually paid in Court without any Deductions whatsoever.
