Says, 'How do you do, marm?' to Queen Victoria. Prescribes Thompson's eye water to the Mandarins of China, and if he pleases, makes the scouting Southerners rich with cotton inventions. He is found foremost amongst those who sway the elements of society—is the schoolmaster of his country, and missionary for the heathen world. He is unequalled, in fact, and instead of going round about ways starts across lots for any desired point. If perpetual motion is ever to be discovered, he will be sure to be the lucky contriver—for he is the factotum for the whole world.
