By Letters from Calabria advise, that the Corsairs of Barbary have, within the Space of eight or ten Days, taken nine Merchant Ships, six of which belonged to this City, two to the Republick of Genoa, and one to that of Venice; but that the Crew had the good Fortune to make their Escape: by getting on Shore.
Upon this News, Orders have been given to send our Galleys and Galliots to Sea without Delay, in Order to drive away these Pirates, whose Squadron consists only of five Xebecks, and one Algerine Man of War.
