LOCAL PEOPLE ATTEND CHURCH CONVENTION

The Arizona Christian Convention of the First Churches of Christ convened at Phoenix in the First Church of Christ. 801 N. Central Avenue for three days of the past week on Oct. 22. 23. and 24. The convention theme was, "The Victorious Church."

Mr. and Mrs. Owen Still former missionaries in Japan, who returned to the United States at the out-break of the war. were outstanding speakers at the convention.

Reports were given by the various ministers, by presidents of the Women's Missionary Societies and Young People's groups. Helen Kell and Virginia Burk played a violin duet Friday evening. Sessions of the convention were attended by the following from the Buckeye church: Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Keck, Virginia Burk, Virginia Casey, Pansy Yocom, Helen Kell and Rev. and Mrs. R. C. Sell. Mrs. Webb.

The hosts include Messrs. and Mesdames Wallace Bales. S. A. Martin and Lee Hunter.
