SEATTLE, Wash., Aug. 10.—Twelve members of the Columbia Exploration Company, according to the advices received by the Alaska Commercial Co. at San Francisco, are supposed to have been wrecked July 2nd, in Kuskowim river, Alaska. They are Captain J. F. Murphy, Bowling Green, Ky.; Robert P. Frierson, Gallatin, Tenn.; Wm. T. Payton, Gallatin, Tenn.; Doc. Allen, Kentucky; Eli Knudsen, Genesee, Idaho; Engr. Kusler, Milwaukee; Smallhouse, Louisville, Ky.; E. S. Lines, Seattle; O. A. Airud, Redmond, Wash.; H. Clifford Hare, residence unknown.
The party sailed from here May 31.
SEATTLE, Wash., Aug. 10.—Further details state that there were eighteen persons on the river steamer, Jessie, of the Columbian Exploration Company, which foundered in Kuskowim river, Alaska, during the severe storm July 28. It is thought all were lost. The news of the disaster was brought to the headquarters of the Alaska Commercial Company by Indians.
