BOSTON, March 20.

Captain Lucas who arrived here the Beginning of last Week from Cape-Fear, in N. Carolina, advises, That on the 27th of February, the Ship St. Domingo, Robert Stevenson, Master, arrived there from Liverpool, and inform'd that on or about the 25th of January, 100 Leagues to the Westward of Teneriffe, he spoke with a Brig from Teneriffe bound to New-York, Patrick Colloner, Master, who desired him to come on board, as he was in Distress. Capt. Stevenson answered, he would lay his Top-sails to the Mast, if he would come on board. Capt. Colloner reply'd, he had lost his Boat, and would be glad if they would hoist out his Yawl, and come on board, which he did; and then Capt. Colloner inform'd him that a few Days before he miss'd his Mate, and inquir'd of the People whether they knew any Thing about him, some of them reply'd he fell overboard in the Night, which made the Capt. suspect they had murder'd him, and looking in his State Room, miss'd his Sword, which he afterward found lash'd under the Main Stay, which confirm'd his Opinion. He then prepar'd his Sword, a Cutlass and an Ax, in order to defend himself, and the Night following he lay awake. About One o'Clock in the Morning three Men came down, and burst his State-Room open, on which Capt. Colloner struck at them, and wounded one of them badly; they then inform'd him, they had cut his Mate's Head off, and threw him overboard, and their intention was to murder him also; but he resolutely defending himself, they withdrew upon Deck. On which, Capt. Colloner, with the Assistance of the Rest of his People, got his Boat hoisted out, put the three Men on board her, and left them to the Mercy of the Seas, not thinking himself and the Crew safe, while they remain'd on board. Captain Stevenson spar'd Capt. Colloner one Hand, in order to help him proceed to New-York.
