Knights and Brown Vacation In N. J.

Mr. and Mrs. Julius B. Knight, 943 W. 41st Street and Mr. and Mrs. William E. Brown, 1225 W. 55th Street, returned to Savannah Sunday from a week's vacation in Roselle, New Jersey. The trip was made by automobile by way of the Ocean Hi-way (U. S. 17 and 13 from Savannah to New Jersey. One of the highlights of the drive was the ferry voyage across Chesapeake Bay from Norfolk to Kiptopeke Beach. This 21-mile voyage required about one and one-half hours to cross, during which time the travelers were allowed to relax themselves and tour the deck of the ferry vessel.

While in Roselle the Browns said the knights were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Simmons. The Simmons are the aunt and uncle of the Browns. Their visit was enhanced by guided tours of Newark, New Jersey, Long Island, Bronx, and Harlem, New York.

While in New York the group attended a movie at Radio City. Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Brown were treated to a shopping spree on New York's famed Fifth Avenue. They shopped for items such as shoes from Antona's, Sables from Sax, and many other items to delight a lady's fancy.

The Simmons and friends sponsored an array of lawn parties and cocktail hours in honor of the vacationing Knights and Browns.

The group also visited Mrs. Agnes Gaston of Philadelphia, who is the sister of Mr. Knight.

The vacationers departed for Savannah Saturday and had an enjoyable return trip, arriving Sunday regretting only that their vacation had come to an end.

Mr. Knight is the owner of Knight's Sundries, Henry and W. Broad Streets; Mr. Brown is associated with the U. S. Engineers, Savannah.
