ORDERS RECEIVED.

Orders were received by the Commodore of this station, yesterday, directing Foster Rhodes, Esq., the present skilful Naval Constructor of this Yard, to hold himself in readiness to resign his seals of office, as soon as his successor arrives, and report as soon as may be, to the Commodore in command at the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Yard. We know not who will be his successor- but public opinion indicates One of two men, Mr. Grice or Mr. Pooke-the former, we learn, has been detached from the Pensacola Yard.

We rejoice in recording the fact, that in the orders received yesterday, was one directing that our friend, and most excellent mechanic, Mr. Alexander McDonald. be employed as soon as business requires one, as Ship Carpenter's first Quartermaster in the Navy Yard. This act of the Secretary is received with much pleasure here, as it shows that Mr. Bancroft is not neglectful of the individual members. There are two other men, whom we expect shortly to see put upon their proper footing, with regard to pay and position, who have been most unjustly used by an arbitrary order, of a former Secretary, which operates upon these two men only, and they, too, whose services and duties cannot be dispensed with; we refer to Mr. William Gleason, Master Block-Maker, and Mr. George W. Randolph, Master Copper-Smith, attached, respectively, to the Gun Carriage Maker's Department, and the Armorer's Department. The Secretary has promised that these two cases should be righted, and we wait with patience, for his action, which though postponed, we feel certain will soon be perfected.
