Sulphur Springs

After the week's rain we have three days sunshine and now crops are looking well and growing, but not as fast as the weeds and grass.

Some of the farmers are laying by corn and when they get their oats out of the way planting the second crop will be in order.

Mrs. Hood and Mrs. Willis took dinner with Mrs. Barnes Sunday and attended Sunday school in the afternoon.

Mesdames Fred and Jeff Woolsey took dinner with May Barnes Sunday.

Elder W. A. Barham filled his regular appointment here Saturday and Sunday. There was a large crowd out Sunday—quite a few from North Liberty, Jethro, Watalula and West View, also Dr. Peters and family of Lonelm was here in the Doctor's car and gave everybody an invitation to come to Lonelm to the big meeting on the fifth Sunday in June.

Our Sunday school is progressing nicely. We have ordered literature for next quarter and ordered new song books which we expect here by the first Sunday in July. All neighboring Sunday schools are invited to come and help us with our new books as they are the same that our neighboring schools have. Our school opens at 2:30 in the evening.

Fred Barnes has gone to Poteau on a visit to his brother and sister and other relatives.

Turney Williams and wife were visitors near Jethro last week.

Lunday Barham and Wallace Wisdom visited W. A. Barnes Sunday evening.

Everybody is about through chopping cotton the first time and some are going over the second time.
