In New England, which has given Federalism support for the last six years, a change has taken place and James Monroe will have the votes of several states there. It is time to confess at last this truth, that republican sentiments and republican habits are laid in this country on too solid a basis to be overborne. Their foundation are like those of the Alleghany, broad, flinty and deep, and like them they traverse this land of freedom from end to end, binding and uniting it in a lasting chain. D. Press.
