FAIRBANKS WILL ACCEPT

Nomination for Vice President, Says Indiana Congressman, but Will Not Scramble For It.

By Associated Press.

Chicago, June 18.--Congressman Hemenway, of Indiana, speaking today on Fairbanks, says: "He will take the nomination for Vice President, but will not ask for it nor express a desire for it. Indiana will not present his name. All attempts to get a statement from Fairbanks will fail. He will accept after the nomination, but will not countenance a scramble for the office."
