COLUMBUS, Ga.—(SNS)—In the early part of the scholastic year 1942-43, the Marion County Board of Education and the colored citizens of Marion County realized that with the ever-expanding program of the agricultural department, the construction or rental of a building to accommodate the activities was pertinent. After several conferences with officials of the City and County School Boards and their respective superintendents, the County Board took the initiative of providing building materials and the City Board contributed the site. At the time of these decisions the colored patrons were requested to contribute the labor to erect the building.
Within the next week this building will be in full operation as constructed to date with class room, office and shop. The other final unit is scheduled for construction about the middle of November under NYA supervision.
