EMIGRATION TO TEXAS.—A late Bremen Gazette contains the following information relative to emigration from Germany to Texas: "The Government of Hesse Cassel has been requested to favor emigration to that part of Texas which belongs by purchase to the Rhenish company, which includes several German sovereigns, especially the Dukes of Nassau and Saxe Meiningen. It was proposed to the proper authority to recommend the settlement of Texas. and the recommendation has not been without success. In the present month (July) a great number of Hessians commenced their journey from the city of Cassel and its vicinity. Various persons skilled in the arts, and not without property, have joined them: and. since the annexation of Texas to the United States. the number of those who desire to emigrate has increased. From Hanover and the vicinity of Alfeld, more than 400. and in the neighborhood of Paine more than 200 Hanoverians are preparing to go, in the months of August and September."
