Fort Valley Rips Alabama Aggies, 81-60 In 3rd Win

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — The Fort Valley State College Wildcats ended their second week of cage play by romping to an easy 81-60 victory over Alabama A. and M. College at Fort Valley Thursday, December 15.

Now standing 3-2 in overall play. Coach Jimmy Hawkins' hoopsters are preparing for Fort Valley's debut in the 11th Annual Pelican State Basketball Classic, to be held in New Orleans December 26-27.

In the first week of the season The Fort Valleyites lost to Bethune-Cookman 73-70 and defeated Tuskegee 55-46. This week they lost to South Carolina State College 83-77, beat an undefeated Norfolk State College team 81-62, and trounced Alabama A. and M. College 81-60.

In the Alabama A. and M. Game, Walter Wilson, the Wildcats' high scorer for the season, dumped in 21 points, followed by Eddie Andrews with 16 points, and Rudolph Jolly, with 14. Cleo Vaughn and Harrison Hunes, of Alabama A. and M made 16 points each.
