Utica Jr. College Wins Drama Trophy

President Walter Washington of Utica Junior College, Utica, Miss., along with faculty members and students are happy over the fact that their school won first place trophy at the annual Southern Intercollegiate Conference Dramatics tournament, held at Harris Junior College in Meridian, April 6. The presentation of the trophy was made to President Washington by Robert Brown, treasurer of the Utica Thespians. Members of the cast of the prize-winning production were: Ernest Dorsey, Mary E. Beecham, Curtis Breaux and Charles Bailey. James Birdsong of the college's English Department sponsored the group and directed the first place drama titled, "Smokescreen" by Robert Kasper.
