Full Text

Solid Delegations.

Allen W. Thurman, son of his distinguished father, having at heart the interests of Grover Cleveland, suggests that when the Democratic state convention meets to choose delegates to the national convention it instruct the delegation from Ohio to act as a unit on all propositions so as to give that state the weight to which it is entitled.

Unanimous action is a desirable thing and is a good way to make a state felt in convention, but what right has a state convention to instruct district delegates?

The Intelligencer hopes to see the West Virginia delegation in the Republican national convention stand together, but this end cannot be brought about by resolution of the state convention.
