Recruiting Office. Within a day or two we expect to see an office opened in this city for raising volunteers to march to the aid of the General Government in protecting public property, and performing its functions. The State of Iowa is called upon to raise one regiment, which is to consist of 780 men and officers. Of that number Davenport will be expected to turn out at least one hundred men. This will afford a rare chance for those who wish to indulge in a little blood letting exercise. The principal portion of these troops will be taken from the river towns. We presume there will be no manner of difficulty met with in raising a regiment in this State, and it is presumable that Davenport will turn out its share of soldiers. It is time the military companies here were signifying their intentions.
