"An Express Boat arrived here last Night in 28 Days from England. He was dispatched immediately after the Surrender of Guadaloupe was known, and touched at Guadaloupe; but Commodore Moore's dispatches are still on board. He being gone up to Barbados, with 10 sail of the Line, to bring down the Homeward bound Merchantmen, and is expected to morrow or the next Day. We know nothing more of the Occasion of the Express, than may be collected from what the Captain reports, viz. That Capt. Tyrrell, is on his Passage out with 6 sail of the Line, 8 Frigates and 200 Transports. An Express arrived here from New-York about two Days ago. Some People can hardly believe Martinico will be the scene of military Action immediately, but we all expect it will e'er long."
