If you didn't know what prosthodontics means, the title might not convey too much—and the reader would have a vague idea of something like a graduating senior at the crossroads, or dirty work at the cross roads, or a stop-and-go light at the crossroads.
But since prosthodontics is that branch of dentistry which deals with replacements for teeth, "Prosthodontics at the Crossroads" takes on a special significance.
That branch of dentistry and the molars and bicuspids of men and women may indeed be at a crossroads, approaching a new milestone.
However, we can be certain that modern dental science, as exemplified by the new School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill, will be able to bridge the gap.
