THE NOME NUGGET

ESKIMO STUDENTS RETURNING FROM SCHOOL

Eskimo children who have been attending school at Chemawa School in Oregon arrived back on May 11 with 4 for Nome, 1 for White Mountain, 7 for Wales, 3 for Teller Mission, 1 for Teller, 3 for Shishmaref, 3 for Savoonga, 1 for Koyuk and 1 for Golovin.

Due to arrive yesterday from Mt. Edgecumbe are 10 for Koyuk, 8 for Teller, 7 for Golovin, 13 for Elim, and 2 for Gambell. Due to arrive today are 4 for Savoonga and 9 for White Mountain.

Students from Wrangell Institute are expected over the weekend and those from Haskell have not yet been announced, stated Robert Grant, BIA Director.

All these children have been away from their families since last September.
