The late London papers contain particulars of the slaughter of the whole remaining Mamelukes in Egypt, by order of the Turkish government. The massacre commenced on the first of March last at Cairo, when eight hundred were butchered in the citadel of Cairo, where they were enticed, under the pretence of celebrating a grand festival; and in the course of the month seven or eight hundred more were destroyed in the towns and villages. A report also reached England, that the last individual of this celebrated race were extirpated in Upper Egypt by the troops of the Pasha. The heads of the chiefs were sent in pickle to Constantinople. A list of the principal names, such as Achmet Bey, Murat Bey, Jusuf Bey, Ibrahim Bey, Ali Bey, &c. &c. are given.
