ON ITALIAN FRONT

Intense Artillery Fighting Reported All Along Line

By United Press.

ROME, Aug. 6:-Intense artillery fighting and minor infantry actions were reported today by the Italian war office. "On the Asiago plateau and on the lower Piave there was intense artillery fighting," the statement said. We promptly and effectively countered the enemy's bombardment, our fire being directed at important centers and blowing up an ammunition dump on the lower Piave. On the Asiago plateau British detachments and our own detachments kept the enemy forces in a state of alarm."
