The steamer A. G. Ropes arrived in Tacoma thirty-one days out from Yokohama, with the largest cargo of tea ever landed on the Pacific coast. The cargo comprises 45,725 packages, enough to make 175 car loads. It will be shipped on special freight trains over the Northern Pacific, and will make ten train loads. The bulk of the tea is consigned to Chicago and New York, but over 4,000 packages are destined to St. Paul and 171 packages are consigned to Montreal, Ottawa and other Canadian points.
