A letter from Alexandria, Oct. 28, says:—The Porte seems to persist in its excessive coolness towards the Pacha, who, it is said knows nothing yet of the peace, except what the French Consul chose to communicate to him. A courier arrived lately from Constantinople, with a letter from his Highness, who complained about the delay of the sailing of the fleet, but without mentioning any thing respecting recent events, nor asking any subsidies whatever. Might this not be Turkish finesse, to produce an offer of more considerable assistance?
The Squadron of the Pacha united with some ships belonging to the Sultan which were at Alexandria, was to sail about the fourth of November for Constantinople, in consequence of orders from the Sultan.
