Full Text

Extract of a Letter from Warsaw.

"The Miseries of this unhappy Country daily increase, by the Contributions levied by his Prussian Majesty. He last Year extorted, by military Execution, near two Millions Sterling from the Province of Dantzick only, and now insists on introducing there a new Coin, fifty six per Cent. in Value below the common Standard. On the Dantzickers demurring, his Troops surrounded the City, and seized and confiscated all the Corn bringing to the Town. You may easily imagine what a Consternation the whole Province is thrown into by these Proceedings, and which, by Opposition or Remonstrance, will become more severe."
