Boston, Sept. 15. By a Letter from Madeira we are advis'd, That a Sloop that was order'd from that Island to Cadiz meeting with Admiral Haddock and 9 Sail of Men of War cruizing on the Spaniards, noted to the Master his Orders to take, burn, and destroy all Vessels of that Nation: but had only met with a poor Sloop, tho' in Cadiz there were 14 Sail of Spanish Men of War, which he should be glad to meet with, tho' not equal in Force, and was reported they were about departing. The Admiral also inform'd him, that the War was only with Spain, and if the French should join with them, the Dutch would fall in with us; and Portugal would remain Neuter.
