Ceylon National Dancers To Appear At Spelman

In connection with the Non-Western Studies Program, Spelman College will present the Ceylon National Dancers, "the company that spearheaded a renaissance of the great music-and-dance arts of ancient Ceylon," in Read Hall, Friday, February 2 at 8 p. m.

Appearing here on their first transcontinental tour arranged by the Asia Performing Arts Program, the internationally celebrated company will bring to the dance lovers the ancient dance and music of Ceylon and also initiate the audience into ancient mysteries and rituals when they do homage to benevolent Gods or drive off demons with fire and frightening mask dances.

Three of the island's loveliest girls, who have achieved acclaim while touring Europe and Asia, will be seen in harvest dances.
