NEW YORK, Aug. 29. (UP)-One of the most unusual persons we've encountered in the realm of sports is little Toby Hatcher, a pretty blonde gal who is "nuts about boxing," who is married to a lightweight contender, and who actually works as a second for her husband.
Little Toby would be hitting out for Los Angeles soon were it not for her three-months old baby boy, Jimmy, jr., who, Toby notes, already doubles up his fists and is bound to be a fighter "just like his dad."
SMART FIGHTER
Jimmy Hatcher, sr., a fast, smart leather-tosser from Lake City, S. C., heads west soon in his campaign for the lightweight crown. On Sept. 11, he tangles with Juan Zuratti at Los Angeles. And after this engagement comes the lightweight champion, Sammy Angott, at New Orleans-in a non-title bout which now is being arranged for Sept. 28.
"I can't go to Los Angeles because little Jimmy is so young," Mrs. Hatcher said. "But I'm making arrangements so that I'll be in New Orleans for the Angott fight. I'm trying to get a second's license in New Orleans, and I'm fixing it so that a very good friend in New York will take care of the baby during the few days I'm absent."
